What differs: who sets the price, who sees your number, and what you pay on each route.
In Algeria you have three routes: a classifieds site where you post the ad yourself and take the calls, a dealer who buys it today at their price, or Soumni, a digital car marketplace between private owners: our team reviews every listing, offers arrive with clear amounts, and your number reaches only the buyer whose offer you accept.
Six questions every seller asks, and how each route answers them.
| Classifieds site | Dealer | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| Who sets the price? | Classifieds siteYou post the price you want, then negotiate with each caller separately until you agree. | DealerThe dealer names their price after seeing the car, and you accept or decline. | |
| Who sees my phone number? | Classifieds siteYour number sits in the ad, so every visitor sees it and anyone can call at any hour. | DealerYou give your number to one dealer, so the conversation stays between the two of you. | |
| Who checks the listing or the car? | Classifieds siteNobody reviews the ad before it appears, and everything about the car you check yourself. | DealerYou rely on the dealer's word and on whatever you can check yourself in person. | |
| What do I pay? | Classifieds sitePosting is usually free, but being seen near the top means paying for placement. | DealerYou pay nothing directly: the gap between what they pay you and what they resell for is what it costs. | |
| How long until I sell? | Classifieds siteIt depends on how visible your ad stays, and as it drops down the list the calls thin out. | DealerIt can be done the same day, since the dealer buys the car outright once you agree. | |
| Who am I dealing with? | Classifieds siteWhoever calls, private buyers and traders alike, with no way to tell in advance. | DealerA known business at a fixed address, who is both your buyer and your intermediary. |
If you want the widest reach you can get, and a public number with the calls that come with it does not bother you, a classifieds site gives you exactly that. It is also the natural choice when what you are selling is not a car.
If you need the cash today, want to trade your car in for another, or have no time to show it to buyers, a dealer shortens the road. You pay for that in the price, and both sides know it.
List your car, or browse the cars without an account. No commitment, and your number is not published either way.
